About Buono Trattoria
Buono Trattoria is a brand new diner at the basement of VivoCity which serves affordable and homely Italian cuisine. Despite just opening at the end of July, we were shocked that it was already packed when we headed down on a weekday afternoon for lunch.
We tried 2 appetisers, their Signature Chicken Wings–6Pcs ($8) and Frittura Di Calamari ($12). Both fried golden battered sides were crispy and flavourful and were great options to start our meal.
We also had their Cream of Mushroom Soup ($5), which was topped with chunks of garlic bread. Their freshly made mushroom soup is a homemade blend of herbs, cream and fresh mushroom chunks, which was absolutely delicious as compared to the normal pre-made mushroom soup mix you get elsewhere.
You can never go wrong with Hawaiian Pizza, and Buono Trattoria’s version of this classic features a thinner crust layered with honey baked ham slices and pineapple. You can also get it in two sizes, small ($15) or medium ($22), which is enough for one and two people respectively.
Next, we tried their Baked Porcini Mushroom Ravioli ($15), which was served in freshly prepared chunky bolognese sauce and melted mozzarella cheese on top. This was one of our favourite dishes here and definitely worth the money.
The last main we tried was their Linguine Chicken and Penne ($12), which featured a generous portion of chicken chunks and pasta mixed in Homemade pesto cream sauce. We loved how the pasta was not soggy and overcooked which had a perfect texture with the creaminess of the sauce.
We somehow found space for their Panna Cotta ($5), which was mango puree layered on top of lightly sweetened pudding. This served as a delicious conclusion to our feast at Buona Trattoria and made the carbs worthwhile.
For those who happen to be strolling around in VivoCity on a weekday afternoon, you are in luck! Enjoy their Buono Express Lunch Set at just ($13.80++) where you can choose a whole pizza or pasta to go with soup or salad and a glass fruit juice to wash everything down. Super worth it!
Amidst the up-scale restaurants that flood VivoCity, we were glad that finally there was a more affordable option among the ranks. Their affordable food definitely did not sacrifice on taste and quality despite the cheaper pricing.
Our favourites and recommended dishes are their Frittura Di Calamari, Baked Porcini Mushroom Ravioli and Panna Cotta.
